Christmas 2011

What a great Christmas as you can see from the pictures. With all of our family in one town and all of their traditions we stay busy the whole week of Christmas. Justin and I thought it was a good time to start some of our own traditions now that Sophia is old enough to understand. We were struggling with do we do Santa do we not do Santa and how to keep Christmas simple and to not lose sight if the real reason for Christmas. We decided to only give the kids 5 gifts: something to wear, something to read, something they want, something they need, and a surprise! I saw this idea on a blog that I follow and I loved it. We decided that Santa would come and leave everyone a stocking full of goodies even the dogs.

Sophia was so funny - anytime we would mention Santa she would say " I don't like Santa I love baby Jesus" That is great but I have no idea where she got it. We picked her up from school one day and she told us that. It makes me laugh every time I think about it.
